"Great location, there is a car park underneath and you get discount if you pay at reception. Bed was very comfy and quiet. There was a bit of road noise as we had to sleep with the room open as the room was quite hot. Check in and out was easy and quick."

"A very central hotel. Very clean & staff were friendly and helpful. My one gripe is that when we were having late evening drinks in the bar, staff started tidying the room up around us & laying up for breakfast. It didn’t make us feel very relaxed or welcome to be there. That was a shame."

"The location of the hotel is good, close to city centre, railway station and The Barbican. Car parking is good and reasonable price. Reception is very welcoming and staff very helpful. Our double room seemed a little dated in furniture and underneath the desk were a lot of biscuit crumbs which then makes you think the room wasn’t cleaned properly. Reported to reception and they dealt with problem immediately. Bathroom also very dated and basic. Comfortable bed. Unfortunately the windows were of a poor quality and they rattled constantly through the night due to windy conditions. We didn’t eat at the hotel but the bar was very comfortable and welcoming. Overall disappointing but willing to stay again if standard of room could be improved."

"Unfortunately, we were moved to their sister hotel named ‘The Drake Hotel’ due to no room available. But the Drake Hotel’ staff were amazing, very helpful with our little dog, set up private breakfast area and oh yeah the breakfast was delicious too."

"The hotel was exactly as described in photos. Clean, classy and very good value for money. We couldn’t hear any guests within property. Shower was powerful and nice and bathroom was clean. Bed comfortable, duvet thick but airy which was the perfect combo. Outside space from the room was well presents and clean. No bad smell and easy check in. Only thing I would critique is we couldn’t open window wide enough for our personal choice and could do with curtains as well blinds as that morning sun hit hard. But as whole I would absolutely recommend and return for a visit. Great stay."

"Needlessly complicated check in process - why did I have to supply my ID? There is no UK legal requirement for this and most places don't do it. The booking app has my details if anything goes wrong. My room (6) was in a dark lower basement, not listed as such. I asked for upstairs room which was available but it did not have a cooking stove. Decor bit naff but place was essentially clean and comfortable with proper bedside tables, and reading lights. There was an issue with the hob which I could not get unlocked. I had to eat microwave food, reluctantly. I sent customer service a video showing how hob was stuck. They claimed it was working fine, sending their own video. But I could not tell if it was the same hob and they refused any compensation. Outside front door stinks of cigarettes & no recycling on offer."
