overall, great staff, from receptionists to room lady. too bad restaurant was closed (due to road construction), but close restaurants, excellent food; close shops; best of all because of location, away fro the maddening crowd the city. very pleasant stay. will return again next year (there 24 days, excellent rate). should have road repairs completed in couple of months. by the way, is right by the entrance/exit of the canal.
poor a/c, locatio not what you see on web. area run down. breakfast to be served at 7 am if you can find the staff.pool not open. a lot of construction in area. if you want to stay on the island dont go here
I arrived late and only stayed one night but the hotel was adequate. The rooms are a little strange but they're very clean and large and I had a nice view of the marina. The location is quiet but it's not really convenient to much. However, taxi's are cheap and plentiful in Panama City so that's not a big issue. Overall it's a decent budget hotel

Nice place, walk to restaurants, great view. Pool was closed when we were there. Excellent location for day trips, and not far from the city proper. Very nice, friendly and helpful service.
We stayed on two "beach" hotels. One way out there and the other one was Amador. We found out that in Panama the taxi's are quite expensive so the other hotel cost us 25$ each time we went into town. That was an extra 50$ a day from our budget........:( Amador is still on the "beach" if you will but much closer to town. And it has a beautiful view of the skyline of Panama City. There is a lot of upgrading going on on Perico Island where the hotel is located so you see some of the construction going on right now (8-2015) but the rooms, location and cleanliness make up for all of that. We were pleasantly surprised that the room had two queen sized beds but had a door between the rooms so you can have privacy if needed.
The hotel was great. Had a great view of the Panama Canal entrance, as well as nearby boats in the marina. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Price was right
Fantastic staff, and decent rooms, BUT.. The causeway is a horrible place that consists of garbage, construction, closed restaurants and stores (unless Saturday/Sunday evening), and enough air pollution to make you sick.
This is a good hotel off the typical tourist path, on an island connected to the rest of Panama City by a causeway built during Canal construction 100 years ago. It's in the middle of a shopping mall of sorts with various restaurants, a Kuna arts gallery, and various tourist trap type stores. This may seem to be an unlikely place for a hotel, but it's relatively small and the rooms are all on the second floor relatively insulated from various surrounding activities. The rooms are relatively large with decent beds and bathrooms. It's not posh, but comfortable. Cabs are easy to find and relatively cheap so you can quickly go elsewhere. Ask for a room facing the Canal, you can sit on your balcony and watch ships come and go through the southern end of the Canal which is more interesting than it might sound at first. The staff rarely speak much English, but they do their best to figure out what you need; if you can bring any coherent Spanish to a conversation that of course helps (I'm finally at that point). The rates are inexpensive enough so that it's a way better place to stay than some overhyped dump like Trump.
Had a pleasant stay with our family. Nice breakfast included and service was adequate and very helpful. Need to have staff speak English for those who are not current in their Spanish. Location was excellent, easy to get in and out of the islands into Balboa or the bridge over the Canal or into the City.
The only thing is that the Pool was closed, the advertisement photo showed the Pool.,I end up.,taking a trip to Taboga Island. The breakfast was very poor.We ordered only coffee.I will give this hotel 3 stars. The amenities were very basic, there was an iron board, good thing.Very clean Hotel that is my best review. The Customer Service was very basic.
Nice spot, good interior, ample room however we were charged for room ice box bottled water that didn't exist. The water bottles used in the room were the ones we bought and brought in the room thus getting nailed for $6.35. The staff remained firm that it was theirs.
The Amador Ocean Vew is an older building but that adds to the charm. The room was clean, bright and roomy. The balcony faced out towards the canal and a marina which made for a great view. The causeway has lots to do and places to eat. They are even building a mountain bike park nearby. The causeway itself is currently being widen so there is some inconvenience but I would love to return when the project is finished. Panama isn't known for great customer service but we received great service at the hotel and the shops near it. If your Spanish is not as fluent as you would like, fear not since many of the employees spoke excellent English.
