"Excellent"

"Check in was not good. I traveled from a different country and needed wifi to get a code. I had to drive 5 miles to get to a friend to call the owners. The owners were in and out of service so they could only text. When i finally got the proper code. It was 5 flights of steep stairs. It should have been told how many flights of stairs to go with a large suitcase."

"Stayed one night ahead of a day in Durham. Easy access to the town, good food and room. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent B&B"

"Super warm welcome from the host, whom we really enjoyed meeting. She was very helpful in finding restaurants, activities, etc. The room was very large and comfortable, we really felt at home."

"A comfortable stay in a clean, basic room. I was dropping my kid off at Durham, and needed an affordable, nearby place. This came up on an Expedia search. About 30min away from her college, and we took the opportunity to drive 5 min down to Horden Beach for a walk, which is lovely. We checked in at the bar, which was busy. "The room was in need of updating, worn and dirty carpets, shabby draperies."

"Location perfect for our day at the races. Staff all very friendly. Food in restaurant amazing. Bed not the comfiest but I do have a bad back. Room small but love the old style decor. Gave it character. Bathroom small."

"A beautiful guest house in a fantastic location. I received a very warm welcome, and my room was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent, and the overall stay offered great value for money. Highly recommended!"

"The only thing going for this place was the central location, near to historic sites and restaurants. The faults were many. It was advertised as a B&B, but breakfasts had ceased in June of this year. the room was shabby and claustrophobic. dust and grime were apparent throughout. the shower room was cramped and mould was apparent. The shower hose and head were caked in mould. no hot water available. the room suffered from dampness and subsequently our clothes were damp after hanging in the...

"Very disappointing. I paid £98 for a very basic twin room for 1 night. Only 1 bed was made up and room was clean but very dated, and the property and grounds have seen better days and are overall quite scruffy. No TV in room but was told I could watch TV downstairs if I wanted to. The shower didn't work properly - either scalding hot or dribbled out cold water. Sink took ages to drain, noisy radiator. Was only given 1 small bath towel and 1 small hand towel. Hosts very friendly and was a very...
