"Lovely apartment in a historic building, ideally located just outside the city centre, but within easy walking distance of all places of interest in York. Nice touch of leaving a bottle of bubbly in the fridge - a good sign that the hosts are attentive. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped, and really does feel like a home from home. "A truly wonderful stay over the festive period. The new spa is lovely and room 452 was SO quiet and spacious, highly recommended. The only downside which I pointed out two years ago is that the shower lets the room down as it’s not powerful enough and looks dated too. A short taxi ride or lovely walk into the centre with everything you could wish for. Please note valet parking is £39.50 and the Soa £45 per person in addition to the room. "Wonderful one-night stay at Ashbourne House. The room was very spacious, well decorated and absolutely spotless. Great attention to detail - there was even a supply of cotton buds and a small sewing kit! Really conveniently located to get to York centre, and the bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in! Will 100% stay here again when visiting York."

I thought this was a very thoughtful and nice thing to ask. The bar area was airy and well laid out and the drinks were reasonably priced."

"The welcome from the the Receptionist was excellent ensured we had a suitable room to meet our needs. Hotel room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The room was heated individually, controlled in the room. Breakfast was excellent lots of hot and cold choices. Highly recommend especially due to the onsite parking which is a bonus in York. All the staff are very polite and friendly."
