"The room was super-clean and quiet, and the staff was super-friendly and helpful. I didn't expect to love an ordinary Best Western on St. Catherine, of all places, just booked it for one night for my work trip. It turned out to be such a pleasant experience that I want to be back next time I come to Montreal. Also, the location is excellent if you travel by bus: the bus station is 10 min away on foot. A subway station is nearby as well. The hotel is a hidden gem! "

"We were disappointed in our stay at Newstar. The shower didn't work properly (either scalding or freezing water) and the drain stoppers were missing on both the tub and the sink. The mini-fridge in the room was barely cool (slightly below room temperature) and the room floor needed repair. The bed was comfortable (good mattress and plenty of pillows) and there was adequate parking. There was no closet, only 4 hooks and 3 drawers. There was an iron, but no ironing board. There were bath towels and wash cloths, but no hand towels. The walls were thin and loud neighbors woke me up in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, the hotel bar wouldn't let us charge to the room and didn't take credit cards, cash only. The location is good, right off of the highway, with restaurants within walking distance. The room and overall property were clean and the staff was pleasant. "

"Check in was fast, staff was friendly. Room was perfect, clean and bkst was very good and free (received a coupon) Perfect for a one night stay and the use of the subway across the street! "

"Great staff. Good breakfast Comfortable beds the only thing is that the pillows could use a refresher as they are quite lumpy. But overall good location the rooms are spacious and you have everything you need. "

"The staff was nice, and apparently upgraded my room. The room was decently clean however towels looked a bit dusty. Breakfast in the restaurant was quite modest for its price and three pieces of fruits on the plate looked tired (from overnight stay in the fridge?) I liked location in a minute walk to a subway 2and a few minutes to the mall with a proper place for breakfast."

"Very clean entrance, lobby, room. Very friend and helpful staff. Centrally located for great entertainment, dinning and shopping. It’s a great place to stay in Montreal."
