The front lock broke to the building and we couldn’t get in for hours. Exhausted all the contacts that were provided to us, but still had trouble getting in, and getting in contact with the host. Eventually, the host came to the building and let us in, but hours later. It would be helpful if guest could have effective and direct communication to the host for emergencies like that. But host was very friendly and cooperative once arriving to the situation.

It is a great place if you are a young solo traveller. There is a flight of 27 stairs to climb. It will be quite a challenge if you have a heavy luggage. The owner, Miguel, was very kind to offer to carry it for me. He also made my room available much earlier than the official check in time. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. You will have to bring your own shampoo, conditioner and body wash if you want to upgrade from the provided hand soap. You will also need to bring a hair dryer, which I felt was odd. It would have been nice if the hotel provided a couple of bottled water for the stay. The owner communicated well once I moved in. However, I wish the online check in process was smoother. The hotel was listed on multiple sites and responses typically took a few days. Having read the negative reviews by others, I took the initiative to contact the hotel early. It would have been nice if the owner could send out a message to lay out the timeline as soon as the booking was accepted. Please note that some of the instructions were wrong and confusing because they were site-specific eg no security deposit needed for Airbnb users with >5 good ratings.

The communication with the host has been fast and nice; we had a problem and he moved to solve the issue as quickly as possible, finding a compromise to make us happy. We appreciated that a lot! Furthermore, there is a washing machine tumble dryer available for the guests, very useful. To improve: cleanliness of common spaces and room and add a hair dryer in every room would be ideal

Fine but come prepared

Adequate cleanliness and provisions. Nothing too fancy but no problems. Main issues are not enough outlets, lack of AC, and the gaps in the shower walls causing water to leak on floor. Bedding is comfortable and neighborhood is quiet. Kitchen comes in handy. Opening the door to leave can be annoying because there is a pinchpoint where the lock is (I scraped myself exiting the hotel once). Just a heads up: nearest metro stop is a 17 min walk!!

For people with technical challenging, it needs to be simpler and we need to have someone to communicate with. Thanks to your neighbours, the barber who did a great job connecting me with the owner, and the friendly auto repair shop for the parking lot. The stairs need a good cleaning and some repairs (there is a risk of falling). Otherwise, the stay was peaceful and short, pleasant.

DO NOT BOOK WITH HOMA HOTEL. Our trip was ruined and we lost $300 due to their complete lack of service and communication. We booked via Expedia and never received the promised check-in link. Upon arrival, the hotel was locked, unmanned, and only offered an AI phone system that never called back. We spent two days trying every contact method—emails, texts, calls—all led to dead ends. Expedia couldn’t connect with the hotel either. A week later, the hotel called me "disrespectful", demanded a five-star review and a month’s wait before even considering a refund.

Communication was horrible and we were locked out/ had to find another last-minute hotel. We were informed the day before arrival that they, supposedly, had attempted “multiple times” to contact us. There were no calls, no messages, and no emails from them. We then tried to contact them to receive check in information, but they didn’t respond to messages for a day and a half, and we were left locked out of the property. Found another hotel last minute. Never checked into this place. Expedia even had a hard time contacting them. No refund, not even a part of the money we spent on this place was given back. Pretty much a scam. Unbelievable that this is listed through a “trustworthy” company.

the unit came with a 1/4 roll of toilet paper. we ran out after our first day. we asked for more toilet paper six different times on two different platforms. We were gone for the day and didn't come back until midnight. They never supplied more toilet paper and we had to find some very late at night. The communication was terrible. We searched the entire unit and only found a can of comet. The shared common area did not have spare toilet paper or paper towels or napkins available. BUT THE WORST PART is the lack of dark curtains. It is impossible to sleep with only a sheer beige curtain that covers 3/4 of an 8 foot window. We were awake by 6 am every day. The sunlight warms the room to the point of it being unbearable to sleep in. There is no fan, AC or working thermostat. Save yourself the headache and spend the extra cash to stay elsewhere. You will regret choosing this location. The shampoo and soap bottles do not contain what is stated on the label. I almost had an allergic reaction, but luckily recognized the smell of the allergen before spreading the soap all over my body. The spare pillows had long black hair. You can hear the other guests' conversations crystal clear. The terrace is pointless as you cannot smoke. Thankfully, only the hotel was the bad part of our trip. Other than this scab on Ontario st, the rest of the city is quite lovely.

For your own good, stay away. Book somewhere else, except if you want a very cheap not so clean airbnb style small chamber. My experience was terrible. First the owner will not great you and only communicate through email. You will grab the key alone in a box at the entrance. After you will enter on a open space not cleaned at all, with garbage bin full and smelling not too good. The worst part was that the room I had no AC and no windows I could open. During my trip, it's was heat wave there. I'll let you imagine how I sweet and was lacking of air in the night. The day after I book somewhere else for the rest of my trip. So I end up paying two stays, but the second was way better. I had air to breath...
