The staff was VERY POLITE and they're the best thing about this hotel.
It's a creepy place.
The elevator is one of those industrial ones, you have to keep holding the button to make it move. If someone leaves the grid open, it doesn't move from floor to floor. Very inconvenient when you're holding bags, and not accessible at all.
The rooms are enormous with edgy decoration, but a closer look reveals furniture that has been severely worn out, to the point of being uncomfortable. There's a thin line separating design choices from stooping.
There's no housekeeping, nobody goes into your room.
The fire alarm went off at 2 am waking everybody up.
There was a pipe dripping non-stop in my room, making it impossible to sleep.
There are deep holes and indentations on the floor, covered by rugs. I've injured my ankle and it's costing me money to get it fixed.
The bath/shower is poorly planned, every shower floods the entire bathroom - and it stays that way, with no housekeeping.
The beds come straight from a scary movie, cracking with every movement.
They don't have blackout drapes, making it hard to sleep on long spring & summer days.
The lobby was filthy-dirty, even if it hasn't been snowing for about 1 month now.
If you like that underground, vilain-from-a-james-bond-movie vibe, you're in for a treat. It's rather scenic. Run from it if you're looking for comfort.
