The service was fantastic!

Our room was beautiful, on two levels with a balcony in front looking towards the centre of old Matera. Breakfast included a variety of Continental options. They even prepared breakfast for us on the last day, when we had to leave early. The service was fantastic, always available to advise us and anticipate our needs.

This was a lovely and amazing place to stay. Staff was EXCELLENT, and the most helpful of any place we have stayed on this trip. Sleep in a cave! The shower, in a small cave, had a steam shower function. All with the easiest of access to Matera. The cave we stayed in was at the base of the oldest church in Matera. Stunning city!

Delightful hotel in the middle of historic Matera. Quirky, comfortable, clean with wonderful staff, particularly Vito. He organised parking for us and had lots of great suggestions for dinner. His colleague, who did our check in, give us a fantastic overview to the town with lots of information.

We loved our stay at Le Dimore dell'Idris. The location is excellent for exploring the city. The staff were extremely helpful and easy to make contact with. They helped us organise parking with a shuttle bus to the hotel. The staff were friendly and gave us suggestions of places to visit and eat. The breakfast was really good. The room was spotless.

Room was comfortable, other than the bed being very low, almost as if it was a mattress on the floor. Very friendly and helpful staff - allowed us to check in very early and they gave us a Togo breakfast because we needed to depart before they served their standard breakfast

Amazing Location & Experience for Visiting Matera

We had a great stay here while visiting Matera! The hotel is literally located in the hill directly underneath the Church of Saint Mary of Idris. Our room was part of a traditional Matera “cave home” and had a very comfortable bed, great air conditioning, and a really nice steam shower! The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, and the included breakfast was delicious…make sure to have one of the croissants! If you’re going to Matera and want to be in the heart of the old city and want a unique room experience, definitely stay here!

This hotel was everything we had hoped for - beautiful, luxurious, authentic. The staff were very helpful upon check-in with advice and assistance with car parking. We took their advice and parked outside Matera and was brought in via a shuttle bus - we would recommend this. The location of the hotel is superb, right by St Peter’s Square. The breakfast was high quality with plenty of choice. The only downside was upon check-out. We hadn’t been made aware that it was 10.30am - we should have checked but didn’t. The lady receptionist was not happy, which we of course understood but it was a shame that we left feeling a little awkward.

Cadre original et idéal.

Petit hôtel aux chambres disséminées dans un secteur idéal à Matera, juste au pied de la la chiesa de Idris. Vue splendide sur la ville, à proximité de tout. Excellent accueil, communication et informations pour le stationnement avant notre arrivée ont été parfaites. Nous avons même pu accéder à notre chambre plus tôt que prévu, un vrai plus par grande chaleur ! Chambre conforme à los attentes mais un seul hic et non des moindres : la literie est de qualité médiocre ce qui a un peu gâché nos deux nuits. Le seul et vrai point faible, bien dommage et surtout pas raccord au regard de la qualité du reste et du prix pratiqué en saison haute. Un bon surmatelas ferait pourtant sûrement l'affaire à défaut de renouvellement.
