"Very nice - but very small - motel. Walking distance to the Presidio. Had quite a few amenities for such a small motel. Even being right off a busy street, was relatively quiet. Please arrive as early as possible. There are limited parking spaces for the amount of rooms they have. First come, first serve. Don’t know where you would park if they were full. That’s probably the best tip you could be given for this location. All in all, would stay there again if need be. "
"I did a ton of research for our trip- me+3 teens. Wanted location that was midway and walkable for all the major spots- GG park to pier 39, Chinatown, Ferry Building, etc. Star Motel blew us away with the upgraded rooms, ample FREE parking spots, location, and flexibility for our check-out needs. 100% would recd to friends and stay again. We were in room 208- corner upstairs room- and loved it. Mini fridge, AC, new showers, sky light, and more. Loved our stay!"
"They had all our amenities and wants covered, free street parking on the weekends (3 hours max during the day on weekdays), and with the wonderful buffet breakfast and happy hour open bar/ food it was really a good deal. Room service was available 24/7 and was a great price. Best stay ever for us in the city."
"Great option if you want to stay in the Cow Hollow/ Marina Bay Area. There is a separate sandwich shop adjacent to and connected to the hotel that was very convenient."
"Excellent conversion of former Fort Baker to unique upscale resort hotel. Spacious grounds with multiple hiking and biking opportunities. Friendly, can-do staff. Wonderful breakfast with creative healthy options. Great location to explore Marin County and only 30 minute drive to Downtown San Fan, plus ferry. "
"It was clean, comfortable, and 2 blocks away was a lovely park to walk around in. Palace of the Fine Arts took 20minutes to walk to, so did LucasFilm headquarters.
Gas station near by, post office across the street.... 2 bars next to it (even though I dont drink some people might find this lovely) ( and honestly the friday night crowd wasn't bad at all. young folks out having a good time)

"The staff were personable, helpful and friendly. The pool was warm and deep for my kids to dive into. The breakfast was ON POINT and it was fun to eat out in the courtyard. You're well located for some great restaurants, the marina area for views of the bridge, and a short walk (uphill!) to Lombard Street and a cable car ride downtown. "
"Saw reviews about the outside noise and they were correct but for the price I cannot complain. Close to the bars and bus stops and a lot of restaurants are withing walking distance. Free parking is a plus is SF. Would definitely stay here again."
"We’ve stayed at the Hotel Majestic several times and always enjoy our visits. The hotel is elegant, clean, and the retro charm creates such a unique and welcoming atmosphere. We especially love the coffee maker in the lobby—hot chocolate cartridges are such a fun touch!
Just a couple of suggestions for the queen rooms:
It would be really helpful to have bedside lamps with built-in outlets or USB ports. You could still keep the vintage look by adding a retro-style lampshade. I ended up charging...
"Great location for getting around and plenty of good places to eat! The family owners were super nice and it’s obvious they want to keep improving things. The outside looked a bit tough but room was all renovated, had a super comfy bed and excellent bedding! I would stay again❤️"
