"I have stayed at the Public multiple times of the past several years, and now with a college student in NYC visit even more often. The highlights of the hotel are: the design of the rooms is brilliant- warm and modern, making them seem larger than they are, the common work area- inviting and spacious with comfy sofas, the cafe downstairs (shoutout to Noel!) as well as the garden space out front. Over the last few years the hotel has experimented with automated checkin (zero staff at checkin)...

"Absolutely loved my stay here, my husband and I just got back home from our trip and loved this hotel. The hotel location is perfect for easy transportation since it is inside grand central, it was so nice walking from our room out the lobby and directly into grand central to get on the subway without even going outside. Had a great view from the room too! The staff was super friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and spacious especially for NYC. Also really loved the endless hot water...

"I enjoyed a 4 night stay at this hotel whilst in holiday with my Mum. The room was perfect - great size, comfy beds, plenty storage and ideal bathroom. It was in a great location - handy for the subway and loads of great restaurants nearby. The staff were excellent- really friendly amd helpful. The cafe on site was ideal to grab a coffee and croissant before heading out for the day. All in all, a fantastic find!"

"The service was excellent. They have elevator operators, which was a little unusual. Very nice room and the maid service was great. They even fill your ice bucket every night while you're out. Be prepared for the prices though---shocking even by New York City standards."
