"Superb property. The room we had was massive. Very large sleigh bed. Raised platform with a double ended bath in the bedroom. Beautiful oak flooring on the platform and really nice thick carpet in the bedroom. The en suite had a large walk in shower and was all new and clean feeling. The grounds were lovely. Nice walk round, rope swing obviously designed for brides and grooms. Sheep in the field next door. Staff friendly. Classly and well kept. Can highly recommend."

"Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. "Beautiful property and unique experience staying in the castle. The staff were very friendly and welcoming - they looked after us very well. Beware some of the castle rooms require you to go up a spiral staircase which is a bit of a climb with a suitcase. The staff very helpful and will help with luggage tho. Evening meal was adequate only as there was limited options which interested us. However breakfast was amazing cooked to order and great variety to suit all diets. Do go on...

"Check in was quick and easy. Staff were helpful and polite, even moved me from a room in the inn to an annexe room so I could be away from noise from bar. Also had a very good breakfast which is extra but excellent value for money. Definitely recommend it hotel and breakfast."

"Really nice place to stay, I'd come back for a short stay again. The full English breakfast was good, my friend thought that his pancakes were under done, the scrambled eggs were out of a packet & watery. The bar was well stocked with a reasonable selection of beers. The only downside was that they don't serve food after 1600 on a Sunday. "

Unfortunately the spa was very full and therefore not enjoyable and we had a terrible nights sleep because there is zero soundproofing, we could hear everything from the room above us and any movement in the corridor. "We stayed in room 102 (cosy room) a lovely little room over looking the gardens. The room was clean and spacious with a walk in shower. We had breakfast which was delicious , served by Rachel the hotel manager, she was bubbly and very approachable giving plenty of suggestions for our trip. The hotel is normally busy but turned out we were the only guest for the evening which made for a peaceful stay (no complaints here) "
