There are two types of floats in The Gion Matsuri Parade, Yama and Hoko. There are 23 Yama and 10 Hoko. The Hoko floats can be up to 25 meters tall and weigh up to 12 tons.

"The room was nice. It wasn’t a big room but it was spacious enough to feel comfortable. I love that they provided a humidifier because the Japan winters are very dry. The amenities were great and abundant. No need to bring toiletries. The restaurant food was a little pricey but the food was well worth it. The location of the hotel is also perfection. Walking distance from Gion and many other attractions. You will not be bored. The staff was great and the complimentary coffee hit the spot on those cold mornings. "
