"The hotel is in a great location right on the seafront. Fast efficient check in and a nice room. Breakfast was very tasty. Loved the green option of swapping a room clean for a free drink. Perfect for a 2 night stay and great for the climate."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Hotel. The location right on the seafront made it easy to enjoy walks and the views, and the staff were welcoming throughout our visit. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the hearty breakfast set us up well for the day. The hotel has a classic seaside charm, and it provided a pleasant base for exploring Whitley Bay and the surrounding area. Overall, it was a very good experience and we would be happy to stay again. "All staff were excellent, super friendly and helpful, I'd booked an attic room but seeing my husband on crutches they immediately swapped us into a first floor room which I think was an upgrade as it had a huge freestanding copper bath and Chesterfield sofa as well as a king (or maybe super king) sized bed. "The room was excellent, bed was so comfortable that we slept in on our 1st night, leaving only 1 and a half hours to get ready for a wedding we were going to. The bathroom was lovely, a large shower with rainfall head. Very deep bath that we used on 2nd day. A great menu and restaurants to choose from. "3rd time having stayed here it still doesn’t disappoint, from the staff who are all so very lovely, to the grounds, to the entrance to the rooms, my only criticism is the room we had was a bit tired but very clean, spacious and cosy we will defo be back "
