This is a lovely hotel! Our room was super clean and tidy. I loved the large bathroom. The beds were comfy and I appreciated the fan for sleeping at night. We did not dine here but there is a Starbucks attached. Another bonus was that the train station was right across the street. I would definitely stay here again. We are from the U.S. and we find the local people very friendly.

The County Hotel is a beautiful old hotel that has been very well maintained. Breakfast is plentiful and the staff were great. Only improvement would be a better selection of toiletry items such as some lotion, shampoo and conditioner etc.

Hotel is located right near the train station and in walking distance of loads of places such as Utillia Arena, St James Park, Metro Centre is only a 10 minute drive. Bar and restaurant area was really nice, beds were comfortable. I really recommend if you’re looking to go and sight see or into going out drinking.

The room was good with a comfy bed, clean bathroom room , shower with hot water etc. Mini bar was useful and not stupidly expensive. Could do with some better glasses for drinks. Staff were all friendly and offered luggage service. Breakfast was nice if not spectacular. Decor around the building could do with updating but otherwise a good place. Would go there again.

The County is a lovely old building in a good location opposite the train station. There is some expensive parking at the rear. The reception staff were very helpful. The junior suite was well fitted out although the curtains were difficult to close (as the room was so tall) so let light in from the sides. It was absolutely fine for a couple of nights but would have been a bit soulless for a longer period and more suited to someone attending a conference in one of the many rooms they had for that purpose. We didn’t take any meals there so can’t comment on the food. Absolutely fine for our purposes.
