"The Continental Hotel Budapest was one of the highlights of our trip. It is a genuinely beautiful hotel, full of character and atmosphere, yet still comfortable, polished and welcoming. The location is excellent. We were perfectly placed for exploring Budapest on foot, with so much of the city within easy reach and plenty happening nearby. The rooftop area was particularly impressive. Although we did not use the pool, the views across the city were lovely and well worth heading up to enjoy. Our room was comfortable, immaculately kept and a lovely place to return to each evening. Breakfast was excellent too, with plenty of choice and everything presented to a very high standard. Most importantly, every member of staff we encountered was warm, helpful and professional. Nothing felt forced or overly formal. The hotel simply has a very welcoming way about it. There was honestly nothing we could fault. It combined a beautiful setting, a brilliant location and excellent facilities with the sort of thoughtful service that makes a hotel feel special. We left Budapest already talking about coming back, and we would choose the Continental again without hesitation. An easy five stars."

"The hotel is in a beautiful renovated building on a quiet street with a lovely church across from it. But, the neighborhood is surrounding it is not central enough to be interesting. We had to travel quite a distance to the more interesting parts of Pest, the better restaurants, shopping and historic sites. The staff of the hotel were okay but not exceptional. I was there 3 nights and had no hint of a room cleaning until I asked at the desk. They said I should just put the “clean room” tag on the door, but there was no tag in my room. They didn’t seem to believe me, but gave me a tag to use. I put it on my door and went out mid-morning. When I retuned late in the afternoon, no one had been in the room to tidy it. The food offered in the restaurant was good and the breakfast buffet was ample in selections and quality. They are overly aggressive about payment if you have not bought the additional breakfast deal… I had a staff person chasing me to sign off on this before I had even sat down to have my meal. The room was comfortable, with an excessively large bath with separate tub and large shower. Mine looked over an apartment complex next door, but friends traveling with me had much nicer views looking out to the small square in front of the hotel."

"The cleaning staff are similar to one star hotel The air conditioning did not work in our room, reported this everyday, with absolutely no results. Also, we spent three hours outside our room at night as there was no electricity in our room Front disk staff Nora and Tamara were amazing in their level of professionalism I wish, we did not stay at this hotel"

"Lovely little apartment, ideal for the two of us. Nicely decorated although the sofa was very hard to sit on. we didn’t do any cooking, but it looked to was barking that’s your thing ready it’s a meal next door you’re ready. It’s not for you Keith be enough utensils in the kitchen."

"Stayed here for 5 nights during the Hungarian GP and honestly couldn’t fault the place even though the hotel was at full capacity. The staff were helpful, check in and out was super quick, there was always somewhere to sit during breakfast and plenty of choice (hot and cold) and enjoyed everything I had. Had dinner at the hotel on my last night and that was also nice! The hotel room itself was spacious and clean and I found the bed really comfortable, also a good amount of sockets. Only a few minor first world gripes, no iron or ironing board but not a big deal as I always travel with a steamer. The shower pressure in my room was low, but my friend on the same floor said hers was fine, so it might just be luck of the draw! If I’m staying for 5 nights, I’d LOVE 5 nights worth of coffee sachets and creamers but again I brought my own instant coffee etc. Got back from the track quite late and thought I’d find some solace in the vending machine but it had pretty much been depleted but again might have just been poor timing on my part. Overall excellent stay and in a great location, would absolutely stay here again if returning to Budapest."
