"Great central location with easy on site parking. Excellent value for money including a great full English breakfast. Despite having booked a double room, check in staff helpfully reallocated us a twin accessible room on the ground floor as I’m currently on crutches. All staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our short stay."

"We let the hotel know we are arriving late but the whole hotel look deserted. Rang the hotel 's number a number of times but it was just a recorded message. The manager of the next door 's restaurant helpfully rang the private number of the hotel manager but no reply. We paid for one night stay, yet didn't get the accommodation nor was the paid money returned. In addition I had to find an emergency accommodation very late evening. Just as well there is a well known hotel chain around the corner with 24/7 reception."

"Our Cosy Double was as advertised -small but well furnished and equipped with everything you could need. It was very clean. We had a lovely view of the extensive gardens. The breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and freshly prepared and great service too. We also had a meal in the bar and that too was very good. The gardens are delightful and we walked around them many times and it was a real bonus to have several sightings of the deer. A small negative was that we had not realised that there are some EV chargers tucked away at the very back of the car park, as there is no information on this on the website or booking form and it was not mentioned to us at any point. Only late in our stay did we become aware of this. Process for using them is also a bit clunky - you have to plug in and ask reception to activate and the fee is a bit steep £20 for 24hrs if you are just wanting to top up. Nevertheless we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend the hotel."

"Another wonderful stay at a quirky location. It was very warm and there was no aircon. There was a small fan but to be honest it was too small and the room would have benefited from a tower fan. We were right at the end of the corridor which was under the kitchen. The food was tasty and will definitely be back in a cooler month."

The building is beautiful and very well maintained, rooms very spacious, comfortable and everything works as it should. Excellent rates, a winner all round. Well done to all the staff, an excellent, comfortable stay was had."

"We stayed at Salomons Estate as a group of 12 people. The grounds are lovely, and the facilities are well looked after considering the age and character of the property. The staff were really helpful throughout our stay. Everything was clean, and both the bedrooms and bathrooms were a good size. Although the rooms are a little outdated, the bedding was very comfortable, which made for a pleasant stay overall."
