"Great property, great service. Food was under-seasoned but otherwise very good. Room (junior suite) was fantastic with private thermal pool. The only big negative was a horrible mattress. It was like sleeping on cement floor. I have been in severe pain the whole vacation as a result. Front desk and housekeeping did not provide a solution saying the mattresses are brand new. No softer mattress or topper available. No attempt to fix the issue. "

"Hot springs are the highlight. Restaurant is great for breakfast. Not so much for the dinner. They try to create visually appealing dishes and somewhat succeed, but fall short in flavor. Add to that the cost similar to eating out in New York City and it will make no sense. There are plenty of restaurants in the town. It's safe to drive at night. Lots of people out. Very lively. "

"The property setting is absolutely gorgeous with lush tropical landscaping and an incredible view of Arenal Volcano. Our room was outstanding. Large and clean and comfortable with a huge two person jacuzzi and a private patio with table chairs and hammock. The staff was friendly, polite and accommodating. The breakfast included was a lavish and delicious buffet in a beautiful restaurant with a perfect view of the volcano. Loved it. "

"Arenal observatory lodge have many things to offer! The hiking trails, the views, the accommodation itself. I stayed in the Casona bungalow. Though it has a shared bathroom, it didn’t bother me at all. I actually think it has the best location within the property. It is facing the arenal lake and just on the left side is the volcano. "Loved the friendliness of staff. The location of the property was stunning. On our free night walk tour we saw red eyed green tree frogs as well as other creatures-amazing!
