"The location is great. The reception area looks clean & very modern. The non trainee receptionist was rude to us when we arrived, though the rest of the reception staff were as they should be. Our room was very basic and especially in the bathroom very tired looking. The shower is ancient. Woodwork - poorly painted/chipped. Toilet bowl edges were dark brown, as was the sink plughole. I asked a nearby cleaner to come clean it. I was unsure if it was covered by dark hair or just pure black grime....

"Great location"

"Hotel fine - bar very pricey. Got a parking fine of £100 for dropping off bags and checking in - car parked at what appeared to be drop off point . Turns out there were signs but just be aware ."

"Very basic hotel and breakfast, definitely not the one you will want to return to"

"Very tired and old hotel"

"This hotel was just mins walk away to the beach of Whitley Bay. It's an older hotel and a very good price. Nothing fancy but clean, quiet and plenty of shopping near by. Staff was very nice and friendly. It was just a 1 night stay to enjoy the relaxing sea rather than a busy city and long my journey up the coast line of England to Bamburgh Castle."

"Decor well maintained , food excellent ."

"The place is well located, clean. The staff were uniformly welcoming and helpful. I do have a problem with the parking system: I do not know if the hotel operates the parking fines or not but apparently the drop off zone allows only ten minutes - not good when the desk is busy and it takes ten minutes to get to the desk. The hotel should highlight this issue in pre-arrival comms. Other than that, to repeat myself, the staff have always been polite and helpful."

"Fantastic location, great food, lovely staff."

"Beautiful hotel. Really enjoyed my stay. Great location if you are visiting the museum"
