"great views, but many stairs"

"Our room was fabulous. The decor, comfort, and cleanliness of the room was great. We had a kingsize bed with the couch, chairs, a refrigerator with 2 waters, and three windows that opened to the front of the Mont. We were provided with a fan and there was tons of storage space (more than we needed for one night stay). The reason for less than a 5 star is due to a few reasons. "First of all the hotel should provide a "hotel-run" shuttle dedicated to guests from the parking lot directly to the Mont's entrance. Even with minimal luggage, it was incredibly inconvenient to walk from the bus drop-off to the Gate and then on the cobblestone street up to the hotel !! Secondly, to access our reserved room, we had to go through a maze of stairs, outside on the rampart, through some room being repaired & then again down some more stairs.... This was the mid-way point in our France trip (fantastic location for visiting Mont Saint Michel), and our one peaceful night in between city-center stays. It was amazing in every sense.
