"Basic last minute family room after our original property let us down. Fair price for what you got. Didn't like the strong smell of air freshener on the first night felt like it was an attempt to mask something as could have sworn we smelt cannabis around the landing etc the first night, gone the second night and we only stayed the two nights. Window in the room was hard to close properly and lots of loud traffic all the time. Staff was friendly and had banter , shop and petrol station across...

"Stayed for 1 night. On arrival was greeted by having to shout to the reception staff as the function room was right next door with a wedding and loud music. States free breakfast on Expedia however, the hotel does not provide any breakfast. This was one of the main reasons for booking this hotel. Walked to the room through dated corridors up and down numerous steps. Corridors smelt "old"

"The lodge was very convenient to Gatwick, the train station and the town. We had requested a ground floor room and received it along with early check in. Bathroom is tiny with no shelf space for toiletries. There were no hooks or hangers which was awkward. Maybe our expectations are different, but we had a total of one bath towel each for two nights - no hand towel or bath mat either. We did not have breakfast so can't comment on that."

"Une usine à dormir … Accueil mal aimable, fenêtre qui ferme mal et du coup on entend très bien les avions !
Chambre en état moyen.
Pas de caf é dans la chambre, uniquement du thé.
C’est bien si vous avez un avion ou un bateau à prendre tôt , sinon à fuir !"

"I think the property could be managed better. There was no fridge in the room which was very inconvenient - I wanted to keep my drinks cold but couldn't. The bathroom amenities were very basic and no bath salts, soap by the bath area for example. The room balcony should be cleaned daily- it is full of pigeon poop. Otherwise, the property itself is lovely and historic, there's alot of potential to make this hotel a 5 star place, but you need a good management to be able to do this. The restaurant...

"Zero amenities, no atmosphere, very few staff & bar closes at 11, too early for a hotel if you’re having a weekend away or coming back after a night out.

"Einfach zu empfehlen super sauber Parkmöglichkeiten vor Ort Zimmer top und sehr ruhig im rückwärtigen Bereich nur zu empfehlen. Nutzend die Unterkunft, wenn wir Richtung Dorf seid beziehungsweise Richtung Cornwell fahren ideal und die Küche zu empfehlen. Absolut top Inklusiv Personal"

"Arrived at the property at 12:30 AM. There was no one to let us in. We called Expedia help line but they were not able to contact the property. One day earlier, we were told that someone would be there. We were lucky to find another hotel that was open. Please refund my money."
