Crawford Lake Conservation Area

Entrance to the village.

Unfortunately no one was around to explain what we were looking at so my knowledge of this is limited to what the signs said.

They believe this area was inhabited by ancestors of the Wendat (Huron) or Attawandaron (Neutral) confederacies.

After Rattlesnake point we took a drive over to 2 other sister parks. This one was called Crawford Lake Conservation Area. We didn't have time to do the trails because they close at 7pm but we were able to check out the ancient establishments inside.

What you see here is called the Turtle Clan Log House and about 30 people lived inside of it.

Inside you would find 3 fire pits where the families would sleep around to stay warm in adjacent bunks.
