Lacks attention to basic details

Fine location, didn't mind the stairs up however once we arrived in the room it was a mess. One of our towels had giant holes in it. The room smelled like mildew, probably because of the wood flooring to the shower. The toilet had stains around the bottom. The sink was missing a drain stop and we could move the table holding the sink basin very easily - it wasn't attached to the floor or wall or anything. The bed was comfortable. The walls were thin and we could understand what our neighbors in the hotel were saying. It is annoying that they had a kettle with slots for tea or coffee bags, but none were provided. Also when we arrived the window curtain was half off the rod because the curtain was secured with velcro. It was easy to fix but shows the cleaning staff have very little attention to detail. the bathroom walls were also metal and rusting, which seems poorly thought through and poorly cleaned.

We bought two nights, did not end up staying there at all. Up 5 flights of stairs, problem at checkin and then room was so I clean we decided the asthmatic in the group would not make it through the night. Stayed elsewhere.

Nos encantó. Era una escapada romántica y supero las expectativas. Si es verdad que son cuatro pisos sin ascensor. Pero se subieron y bajaron 6 veces en total y tampoco es para tanto, La habitación limpia y silenciosa. Cerca de los lugares que queríamos visitar.... Para repetir

Bildene gir et litt for godt inntrykk av hostellet. Det er veldig lytt, og man hører ringeklokken, telefonen, samtaler i gangen og naborommet som koser seg. Personalet er hjelpsomt og trivelig. Lokasjonen er bra rent logistisk, men det er litt creepy med en del narkotikaselgere rett ved inngangsdøra. Hostellet ligger i 4. etasje, inn i en ganske nedtagget entre og forfallen oppgang.

フロントの対応は良かったですが、それ以外はいまひとつ。まずホテルが4階で階段しかなくとても大変。部屋がすごく狭くて空調が小さな窓一つ以外なく、常にやや湿気ておりカビ臭い。友人のアレルギーがひどくなりました。床があまり清潔でなくゴキブリみたいな虫を踏んでしまった。隣の人のいびきがうるさい。シャワールームの扉が錆びていて閉まらない。初日はバスマットがなくて水びたしに。なぜか毎日掃除はしてあるのにタオルの交換だけされていなかった。金庫の説明書がなくて扱い方がわからず、初日は使えなかった。

Won't stay again

I would not stay here again. The hotel was a shock when we first arrived. The front door was covered in graffiti and we felt very unsafe walking through a deserted old building, past a hostel, to get to the actual hotel. Although the room was similar to the pictures, the standard wasn't good. The glass on the shower door was cracked, there was mould around the shower, the floors could have done with a hoover and there were dirty marks all over the walls. It ruined our first night in Barcelona as we were in shock more than anything, its annoying when you work hard and pay a decent amount of money and your mislead the way we were. There are so many other hotels that we had seen on booking.com and hotels.com that we walked past when we were there and the were similiar prices and looked really really nice. The location is good, but we never felt at ease or safe. It's also really loud during the night so its hard to get a good nights sleep.

Surprising, nice hotel n the middle of the Gothic quarter. Entrance was a bit surprising (wooden door with graffiti), three stairs. Rooms are smaal but nice. Location is noisy, you can follow all conversations in other rooms. If you are alone, this is a cute hotel for one or two nights.

Terrible. One of the worst stay I have had. And it's not cheap either. By the way, this is not a hotel. It's more of a converted hostel so that they could charge 100+ euros a night. The room is extremely small. AC didn't work. TV didn't work. The wall is a thin dry wall. Outside entrance is covered with graffiti. Inside hallway is very rundown and in need of a face lift. The "hotel" is on the 4th floor. WIth no elevator, you would have to walk and carry luggages up yourself. The inside corridor smells like weed as long term residents of the building just smoke with their windows open.

The hotel is in a great location. You have restaurants, shops, night life right at your door step. The only caution i would give anyone is that the hotel does not have an elevator and it is about 4 stories up. You have to walk up and down each time. We did not have any issues with this but perhaps someone with a bad knee or something like that would. Other than that, staff was friendly, room was clean with your basic amenities and you are pretty much in the heart of the Gothic quarter.

Great location, the gothic quarter to me is the best area in Barcelona to stay. I loved the decor of the hotel and rooms. Comfy beds, french balcony, fresh rooms. Hairdryer and kettle are provided. I would have preferred a mirror above the dressing table as there was only 1 in the bathroom, a waste bin in the bedroom, another mug as there was only 1 with 2 of us staying. The rainfull shower was lovely but didn't feel very powerful. That said if i return to Barcelona I would stay here again.

Het is een unieke locatie. In het gebouw verwacht je totaal geen hotel. In combinatie met het hostel wat in hetzelfde gebouw zit een erg rumoerige locatie.

To be honest this hotel has a good location and the room is ok for 1 night . But 1 thing they are not telling is the reception and the room are located at the 4th floors without elevator with a lot of small stairs not easy if you have a luggage or if you are disable ! Those rooms are absolutely not sound proof. And last thing the smell in the room was horrible... a smell of poops was coming from the water. Very bad experience! With no body at night time !! So do not expect any help or service !

The location is good. Other than that everything is horrible. First, the room is not the same as the pictures, it’s all not true photos which disappoint me first. Second, the room I got smells very very bad and also smells like humid. Third, o one cared about my issues and even the manager never responded back to me when I complained. So I don’t recommend this hotel at all and I don’t even give it half star. Bad bad bad

Cute, Quaint Hotel for First Time in Barcelona

This was a perfect location for our first time in Barcelona with nearby restaurants and bars. The hotel was a little tricky to find, however, staff was very friendly in helping us. It's important to know the actual hotel is up at least 6 flights of stairs with no elevator. The room was very clean and quaint. We were very comfortable and felt safe. The hotel is about a 5-7 minute walk to Las Ramblas where you can take the metro to all tourist areas including Sagrada Familia and Gaudi houses.

It was horrible stay .Only Internet images were giving good impression, however the rooms and toilets are inconvenient. Facilities are zero. No sence of providing writing desk, sitting chair, mini fridge, According to the standard of your hotel , the room rates are reap off. Better to stay in other hotel than Boutique 1847. Regret to book online.

Uniek is de ligging. Het zit overal op loopafstand in de buurt. Ook de manier van de badkamer is geweldig. Klein minpuntje dat de rolluiken voor een beetje privacy op het toilet niet werkte. Dit hebben we aangegeven en hier ging ze zsm wat mee doen.
