"Lovely hotel with exceptionally friendly staff , particularly Georgina in the Spa"

"It was consistent with expectation and you get what you pay for. Which wasn't a lot. It served its purpose as an overnight stop-over before an early flight. Easy parking, convenient for LBA. Food awful. Bed was comfortable, room was clean but dark, shabby and rather depressing. Best bit - escaping into early morning sunshine."

"Looks grand from the outside and reception, with beautiful grounds. It’s dated. Very dated! We booked the cheapest room so walked a few miles in corridors getting lost in lifts that only go to certain rooms and then a stairwell that was really smelly. We had drinks in the bar, asked for coke was given Pepsi without being asked if I was ok with that and then the £4 small bowl of fries was literally cold. No need to return. "

"I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. "

When we arrived the receptionist noticed I was using a walking aid and unprompted started looking to change our room to an accessible room eliminating needing to use stairs. We were very touched by his thoughtfulness. It was an upgrade to a suite which was outstanding and it really enhanced our comfort and experience. "Nice room but outside balcony was covered in cobwebs and leaves. Couldn't find a way to turn the heating down and was way too warm in the room. Only one balcony door would open "
