"The room was slightly bigger than the other Japan hotels we stayed at. Def still tight though if you have a lot of luggage. The amenities were good and we liked the bathroom. The spot is very convenient. The view from our room was nice. We know it’s next to the red light district, but if you are from America it def doesn’t feel like that and the people standing outside have big jackets on. It’s very easy to ignore them. Plus the area has so many restaurants and people around that it kind of jus feels like they are just there."

"This was our second stay at this hotel (first in 2024). The location is excellent, close to two subway stations, so transportation is quick. The rooms are small but clean, and most importantly, the hotel is quiet. There's a shopping center, restaurants, and everything a tourist might need in Tokyo. The only downside I've encountered is the language barrier. The very young reception staff have a very limited command of English, essentially just basic conversational textbook phrases. If a situation arises where you need to provide an answer other than the one in the textbook, it's a problem. Because they don't understand the question, they smile prettily and say "yes" or start asking other hotel receptionists who also don't know how to answer the question. So, tourist... you have to figure out the answer yourself. "

"Great location! Great room with amazing views! We stayed in 4 different hotels this last trip to Japan and this one was by far our favorite. The check in lobby isn’t until the 18th floor! They have so many different things inside this hotel. An arcade, a Starbucks, multiple restaurants! Such a big win!"

"I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro (ホテルメトロポリタン) and would absolutely return. The location is fantastic — tucked slightly away from the busiest streets of Ikebukuro, yet incredibly convenient. It feels safe and secure, especially being right next to a police station, and just a short walk to the subway. There are multiple convenience stores right around the corner, including 7‑Eleven, Lawson, and FamilyMart, which made grabbing snacks or essentials effortless. Despite being so centrally located, the hotel itself was peaceful and quiet — something I truly appreciated after long days out exploring. My room on the 7th floor was recently renovated, clean, and very cozy. I loved the thoughtful touches, such as complimentary bottled water in the fridge and a humidifier in the room — small details that made a big difference in comfort. What truly made this stay exceptional, however, was the staff. They deserve a 10/10 rating. Every team member I encountered was incredibly thoughtful, courteous, and genuinely warm. They assisted with my luggage, greeted me kindly each time, and always seemed one step ahead in anticipating guests’ needs. Their hospitality elevated the entire experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Tokyo and will definitely be returning on my next trip."
