"Great boutique hotel in the heart of downtown St. Pete. Had a little birthday pool party there. Don’t bother bringing ANY food or drink by the pool, including water. They have free water at the bar but they won’t let you bring in your own water. Also, apparently there’s a pool server. No one told us that so when we ordered from the bar a server came over and was very openly annoyed that neither the bar staff or the hostess let us know to order through her. Overall though, a great time!"

"The room was okay., clean but in need of a refresh. The onsite staff was very friendly but did not speak English. I attempted to alert her to a parking issue and she gave me her phone to speak into an app translator. "Avalon was an old but adorable boutique hotel. The rooms were clean and well decorated. The staff was excellent, very accommodating and answered all the questions I needed for last minute stay couldn't be more happy."

"Initial room was not clean when checked in. Asked to be moved to another room which was inconvenient. Appliances in the room were leaking water and not operational. Bed springs were not good. Above all, AC unit was making loud noise through out the stay which disturbed my sleep. Complained about the excessive AC noise but tech said that it's normal for older unit."

"Hi, I wanted to share my disappointment with my recent stay. I felt it was very unfair that I wasn’t allowed to have guests visit my room or use the pool with me. This policy significantly impacted my experience, and I don’t believe it was made clear before my stay. Had I known about these restrictions in advance, I may have chosen a different hotel. There was roaches in the bathroom also."

"The first impression was charming. Cool bar and lounge area. Our room blew a fuse( no a/c, lamp, clock) and staff never repaired it. In evening hours we could not find one employee to assist. Randomly an employee also just walked into our room without knocking while we were in the room."
