With almost 200 two-star hotels, many of which are highly rated by previous visitors, Phuket is an easy location in which to find a suitable two-star hotel for your holiday. As is to be expected, they are primarily concentrated in the particularly popular tourist areas of Patong, Phuket Town, Chalong, Kamala and the vicinity of Phuket International Airport. As such, what they may miss out on in luxury, they more than make up for in location and local amenities.

Being low in the star ratings means that prices for two-star hotels on the island are very reasonable and, if you search carefully, you’ll be able to find some particularly attractive establishments displaying excellent value for money. Some hotels have taken a leaf out of their higher rated counterparts’ books by offering such facilities as free buffet breakfasts, use of an outdoor pool, and an onsite restaurant.

Many of the hotels offer varying standards of room too, so if you fancy a little extra space or a better view, generally you will have the option of a room upgrade without having to pay a significant amount more for a higher class of hotel.

Due to the independent nature of two-star hotels, you’ll find that many of the establishments are small and offer only a limited number of rooms. When you are compromising on hotel class in Phuket, it’s worth thinking very carefully about location as, chances are, you’ll be spending plenty of time in the local vicinity. Due to the high volume of two-star establishments, you’re spoilt for choice in terms of location. Staying in a hotel in Patong or Phuket Town, for instance, will put you right in the middle of the action for nightlife, shopping and dining, as well as being close to some of the island’s best beaches.
