Christmas at Yuzawa Naspa Otani hotel

We chose the junior suite overlooking the mountain and ski slopes for our 4-day/3-night christmas trip. This hotel is right at the start of the slopes and offers every comfort for a short skiing trip: all rental gear you can imagine and especially free ski lift package for hotel guests.

Great hotel

The junior suite room was spacious, and the hot spring was great. Great staff. Breakfast was served buffet-style, and it was good. However, since I visited during the off-season, their restaurant was closed for dinner.

This was the first time we stayed here. My husband and I had a western style room and it was very roomy, furnished nicely, staff was polite and knowledgeable, had an onsite onsen too. Free shuttle service to the train station too. We would be happy to stay here again!

Excellent hotel, the room was very spacious. Great buffet breakfast selection. Friendly staffs. Free shuttle bus to Yuzawa station every 30 mins. The snow resort is right next to the hotel; however, it was not yet opened when we were there (mid December) We had to travel to Kagura.

Nice Hotel in Echigoyuzawa

Hotel ist just great for weekend retreat. It has an onsen, swimming pool, fitness room, etc. Also it is located close to Ski lift. There are several restaurants and the Hotel and a nice bar. Shuttle bus is also available

The hotel is 3 or 4 minutes from the station by hotel’s shuttle bus. And the ski garden is just near to the hotel , so it is so convenient for the skiers. The staff of the hotel and the ski garden are all very nice. The room is wide and clean . The buffet is delicious too.

The room smelt at cigarettes. There was no a la carte available, very expensive buffet or course menu. The buffet was not very tasteful. You have to pay for fitness and swimming pool, abnormal high amount. Price-quality not in line!

Check in was at 3pm, check out was at 10am. Staff does not allow even 30 minutes late check out, asking that we buy 1hr late check out at 2000yen. Breakfast was at 7am to 9am. Basic breakfast. If you are there at 830am, you need to take out the breakfast, take out box is provided by the hotel. We were there earlier, before the snow park opened. Staff was not too helpful with recommendations of other snow amenities that we can do. In the end, we found Echigo Yuzawa Ropeway on our own, which is a short walk (5 mins from hotel). Absolute fun - you sit a cable car up, and then the view.on top is breathing taking and there's a good Italian restaurant up there. The bathhouse and onsens are great. Decent size and comfortable and clean. There was a child-size snow sledge for kids, which is quite fun (even though the ski park was not opened when we were there).

I stayed here before and it’s always clean and you have everything you need. The public baths are spacious and excellent. The staff is always polite. In the winter season the free orange bus which connects with Gala and Ishiuchi slopes is very convenient. The hotel has its own ski rental and lockers which are very convenient.
