"The staff at Ascot House were great. The breakfasts are pretty much set with some exceptions if you don't like something, the chef tries to accommodate when it's possible which is a great thing to be able to offer. The owner June does a great job with keeping Ascot House friendly and accessible to all people. We had a lovely time staying here and visiting York."

"A wonderful, clean,air condtioned room and staff can be contacted 24/7 if any problems. Bed was very comfortable and being left a small bottle of milk in the fridge was a nice touch. Parking was no problem at all in front of buillding. Did have any food but all looked lovely. Would definately recommend."

"Clean, comfortable room in a location giving easy access to the centre of York. Not really for 4 grown up people though. More like 3. Perhaps 2 adults and 2 children would've been OK. The second bed was small. "

"Last minute booking as decided to stay overnight in York. Communication for check in was quick, property was easy to find, close to town and super clean and tidy. Had a relaxing stay and would definitely consider again next time we were in York. Small supermarket and Mrs Greedy’s at end of road was excellent for supplies and a quick cooked breakfast. "

"Didn't need parking and didn't use the bar. Breakfast was good but something like muesli, stewed fruit would have been helpful."

"Two stays, and both times I had to phone for the entry codes - and another guest had the same issue. I think something in the link with the new, amalgamated Hotels/Expedia/etc site is going missing. Other than that, it's a pleasant place to stay. Can be noisy at times - bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. And if you need parking, best book it - there aren't many spaces."

"You telephone on arrival for instructions to park in a side street if there is space (first come first served), we got a bit lost trying to find the parking area and had to call a few times but got there in the end and luckily there was space. You telephone again when you get to the door of the property for the code to get in and staff talk you through where your room is, where your key card is and how to use the door locking/unlocking panel. Room was a bit tired but clean. Peeling paper on...

"Basic room, a little dated but all we needed was supplied for one night in York at a family wedding We had 4 in a room so space was tight but knew it would be! Not sure we could have done it for a week! So convenient as right In heart of the city"

"This is a fabulous place to stay with fabulous staff. The room was also clean and lovely, the warm breakfast was delicious, & parking amenities were lovely. It is also in a perfect location to get to downtown in just a few minutes of a walk. Would highly recommend"

"Lovely apartment in a historic building, ideally located just outside the city centre, but within easy walking distance of all places of interest in York. Nice touch of leaving a bottle of bubbly in the fridge - a good sign that the hosts are attentive. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped, and really does feel like a home from home. Overall, thoroughly recommended."

"The Dean Court is a charming boutique hotel that was completed in 1865 as Clergy residences for York Minster which the hotel is in the shadow of. Because you are staying in a heritage building there can be some charming challenges such as creaky floors and low clearance doorways. Despite that the positives far outweigh any challenges you may encounter. Everything is walkable from the Dean Court and there are several great pubs feet from your front door many of which offer a Sunday Roast menu....
