"Absolutely beautiful house and weathering pretty well considering age and National Trust status. Quirky and very comfortable but not contemporary so don’t expect gleaming and modern. That’s the absolute beauty of this place and we loved it. The staff were fabulous and service was outstanding. House and grounds superb. Special birthday treat and will recommend until the cows come home! Well situated for York and a wonderful way to embrace history with this wonderful house. Fabulous!"

"Really great hotel with so much attention to detail. Record players in the room and a huge selection of records is a really nice touch. The Radio was on when we arrived to our room and the Pantry is generous & a really unique touch. Canadian lady on the Bar was knowledgeable & super friendly (Pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the extensive bar menu was priced). Just really really cool & great location."

"How can they call that a four star Hotel. Its was a very hot day when we checked it , No air condition, and when we arrived in the room it was like an oven, They did not have the curtesy to open a window to try and cool down the room before we arrived. and we were given a small fan which all that did was circulate the hot air around the room, Checked the fan and the pat testing sticker was a year out of date. Sitting watching the tv and all the power went off. They spent half an hour trying to...

"The staff at Ascot House were great. The breakfasts are pretty much set with some exceptions if you don't like something, the chef tries to accommodate when it's possible which is a great thing to be able to offer. The owner June does a great job with keeping Ascot House friendly and accessible to all people. We had a lovely time staying here and visiting York."
