Very nice one night stop in historical ryokan in an amazing location. My wife and I stayed one night after exploring an area of Yokohama we had not explored before. The ryokan is very traditional and gave a good feel for what it was like in earlier times.

Liked: Staff & service
Ryokan was decent, however I have been to better ones in Japan.
Room was definately large enough and clean.
Meals were ok, but again, have had better ones in Japanese Ryokans and restaurants. Then again, it's a high bar compared to restaurants outside of Japan...
This was our first stay in a traditional Ryokan accomodation and we all loved it. The place is very beautiful and well preserved with some lovely hot baths. The rooms are spacious and very agreable. The service is impeccable and very welcoming. It is 10 min walk from the station and the beach and is in a very quiet and loveky area. I recommend wholeheartedly.
Lovely service and accommodation. Though an old and historical building,it was well maintained and things were in good condition, adequate for our 3 nights stay.
There isn’t a toilet or bath area attached to the room, but it is just outside and my family of 2 adults and 4 children actually had no real complaints about it. The little ones actually enjoyed the large bath area.
I did feel bad whenever any of us woke up late at night to visit the toilet as I was afraid our footsteps n noise would disturb other guests.
We drove and the assigned parking was a short walk away. Convenience stores were short drives/walks away as well which made it very easy to get food whenever we needed.
After catching some clams at the beach, the restaurant chef kindly helped us cook it up at no extra cost.
It was really the wonderful service provided by all the staff that made our stay there extra special.
We'd a blast at KITAYA Ryokan. We'd the opportunity to have a bath in the spa, taste one of the best dinners at Tokyo(We'll never forget the hot pot and the Wagyu-meat) and the service. I really recomend everyone to stay at least one night at KITAYA Ryokan and PLEASE take the dinner there, you'll regret it if you dont.
I stayed at the Kitaya Ryokan for two days and it was a lovely experience. It was a little tricky to get to, and required a short walk from the train station. However the building itself is lovely and has a very long history.
The staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and tolerant of foreigners.
