I've rarely bothered to leave reviews of hotels, but my experience here left me quite furious. I stayed in the hotel in October, so not so hot outside. However it was VERY hot in my room, at one point it was 27c. Clearly the Air Con wasn't functioning so I asked reception. They sent a technician who proceeded to LIE about the situation saying it would take time to cool down. Eventually they admitted that they had turned off the Air Con for the whole hotel to save money and gave me a cooling unit, which did almost nothing I should add. I would still be annoyed but be prepared to accept this at a cheaper hotel, but this is meant to be 5* luxury. Being able to sleep at a comfortable temperature is a BASIC requirement and one that I wouldn't ever imagine would be an issue at such a hotel.

It's a widely open, calm and clean area. Well designed near the airport. Hopefully, other facilities or shops and taxis services would be available in the near future. The restaurant services (Chinese food portion we tried) is very excellent, best one we ever had during the "Silk Trade Trip".

The room was big, the bathroom very spacious and modern, the breakfast has a great variety and high quality. The service staff is very friendly. The hotel swimming and outside garden was very enjoyable. Not so experienced with foreign credit card in restaurant area. No shuttle service to Xi’an center. Overall was excellent and would definitely stay there again.

Luxe, new hotel in suburb

This marble-furbished hotel is in a very upscale suburb "New" area on the outskirts of Xian. The hotel appears to have two sections: one for tourists from outside China and one for Chinese. Both share the huge, lovely gourmet restaurant. A hired taxi is the best way to get from the airport to this hotel or to the Terra Cotta Warriors and the fine Xian (area) Historical Museum in Xian city. Hotel personnel can help arrange for the taxi. Distances tend to be considerable.
