"Great room. Plenty of space. All necessary items in room. Staff downstairs were very helpful whenever asked. Breakfast was a massive choice of items and staff couldn't do enough. The coffee was great! Perfect for our stay. Have stayed there before and will stay again."

"Had a two night stay in Room 1. Staff all friendly and helpful. WiFi was on the blink.so not available on our room. They said they needed to fix it. Room was spacious. Lovely bathroom but lighting in both room and bathroom could be brighter. Water hot but found controls on shower difficult to adjust. Tea making facilities all good but I brought my own herbal tea - only standard tea available. Small bottle of still and sparkling water provided."

"Rooms attached to a pub. The pubs very nice with really good food options. The staff were first rate and the room was surprisingly quiet. We stayed for three nights going to the races at Redcar and the sea side."

They communicated very promptly over messages and calls, and gave us clear information about parking, amenities, and check-in/check-out which made everything stress-free from the start. "Large bedroom and recently modernised en-suite. All clean and tidy. Nice and warm (4 day stay in January). Breakfasts were excellent and the food available for the evening meals in the pub part of the hotel was also good. All of the staff were warm, friendly and helpful. The car park is big. Breakfast does not start until 7.30am. You order it from the menu the night before and it was always ready for 7.30 for me, but I was there on business it left me quite tight for getting to my meeting...

"Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. A real asset to the Old...

"We stay here regularly whilst visiting family. I love it because everyone is very friendly, the beds are super comfy and there is a bath in the bathroom. It's walking distance into town even after a few drinks in the very reasonably priced bar! It's dog friendly too. Big carpark and surprisingly quiet after the bar closes. Usually football on the TV in the bar which keeps my husband happy (depending on play...) 😅 The Highfield is always our first choice when planning to come to Boro."
