"Yes to both. Room very clean. Staff friendly. We have two concerns. The main one was that the lift wasn't working and none of the rooms were on the ground, or first, floor. We weren't warned of this beforehand. There were also steps outside down to get to the hotel part and up to get to the restaurant part. Also, we found the room very very hot overnight and couldn't do anything about it. Otherwise fine."

"Incredibly basic room and didn’t even have hot water on our final morning…there’s budget and there’s this place. Spend a fiver more and get somewhere 10x nicer "

"A lovely light, double aspect, clean, quiet, spacious room and bathroom. Bedding and towels good quality. Even a stand alone heater for extra warmth was much appreciated. Dining room staff efficient, my evening meal was a pleasant experience, but didn't take breakfast. A warm welcome from reception staff member."

"Looking from the outside, it doesn't seem like a hotel. But when I press the doorbell, there are staff to give advice. Very welcoming, easy to check in, go up to the room is very clean, especially the bathroom, worth the price, not far from the city centre, convenient if you rent a car, if you don't have a car."

"We found this a bit of a mixed experience. As we arrived very late, we only noticed the exterior the next morning. The building is clearly a 1960/70s structure, and the concrete architecture is quite stark and not particularly appealing. However, It’s clear the hotel is in the process of being refurbished, with the entrance and hallways already completed to a very high standard—they feel grand and welcoming. "Staff lovely. Love a bath in room and great breakfast "

"Avoid Room 22 floor, doors, bed squeaked. Door for the corridor was right next to our room every time someone opened it , it banged shut and the whole room shook. The boiler must also be close to the room or a main pipe noise from it all night ! Staff were all very nice and helpful. We had pre-booked a table for dinner stating not in the middle of the room or in between two others disappointed when it was bang smack right in the middle and no other tables we could have . Wouldn’t stay again. "

"I was just staying for 1 overnight,but the sfaff were very helpful and let me check in early. Also overnight person was helpful changing the time for my taxi as I had lost my voice - he was great and called for me and it worked out.."
