"This was our 3rd stay at St John's Lodge and yet again it did not disappoint. Great location, great room (which was upgraded when we arrived, a welcome surprise), great breakfast and amazing service from the Hosts Rich & Ada. Having free access to the Local health club and spa is another fantastic bonus, popping in after a hike to utilise the jacuzzi is great! We couldn't ask for more from St John's Lodge, Rich and Ada are excellent hosts and couldn't do more for us. We hope to return again...

"The breakfast was lovely and plentiful, whilst the parking was adequate as there were few guests. The room could of benefitted from having lampshades on the wall lights, there was a rouge hair in the bath and the dressing gowns were washed with too much detergent, thus not as soft as you might expect for five star accommodation, At the time of booking a table, the menu differed considerably from that seen online, in addition to the price having been increased. "Fantastic break between Christmas and New Year. We stayed in the annexe across the road. Our room was dual aspect with a lake view. It was perfect for our needs for our two nights stay. Breakfast was very good. The location was close enough to stagger up the main road from Bowness without too much effort. "The hotel was beautiful and all the wonderful festive decorations made it feel very special. Bar staff were wonderful. I loved sipping my gin by the warm crackling fire place.
