Safe, well located, super comfy

Gem of a place, right in the heart of Umhlanga. Easily walkable to restaurants etc, and very safe, even at night. Super comfortable rooms, and lovely owners. Highly recommended!

Nice quiet beautiful little guesthouse, perfect for single or couples. A small swimming pool with sun in the afternoon and sunbeds. Very safe area to walk around to restaurants and the beach promenad. The host couple are great!

Best stay by far

Our best stay in South Africa by far. We stayed for 6 days. So sad to leave. Sandy looked after us and nothing was too much trouble. Our spacious room opened onto a terrace overlooking a beautiful pool and garden area. A great breakfast. Staff were excellent always smiling, in a great leafy quiet residential area and only a 5 minute walk to many shops and restaurants. We will be back when we return to South Africa

Great guest house, they have thought of everything. Home away from home. The owners are incredibly nice and made sure everything was perfect. Great location and walking distnace to great foods. Safe and secure.

Super chilled out place in umschlanga.

Loved everything. Had a wonderful and relaxing stay here. Lovely hosts and especially loved the patio with a glass of wine in the evenings.

Peter, Cilla and Sandy are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Great comfy rooms and tasty breakfasts. The guest house is in a great location for the high street which has good bars and restaurants and is a short walk to the lovely beach.

Herzlich Willkommen

Obwohl wir zu früh anreisten, wurden wir herzlich begrüsst und empfangen. Das Guesthouse ist ideal gelegen, da man zu Fuss zum Lighthouse, zum Granny Pool sowie ins Zentrum zu den verschiedenen Restaurants gelangt. Sicherheit wird in diesem Quartier sehr gross geschrieben, wir fühlten uns jederzeit sicher.

Excellent guest house close to town.

Excellent guest house close to lots of restaurants and bar. Very friendly hosts, nice room, missed breakfast as we had to leave early but it was a good place and I’m sure it would have been lovely. felt safe, clean and good value.

Friendly hosts, wonderful place.

Peter and Sandy were amazing hosts. Very friendly and welcoming. Felt like staying with (very attentive) friends! A guest house with real charm, character, 1000x better than a soulless chain hotel would have been. I will definitely make Anchors Rest my default place to stay in Umhlanga.
