On July 1, 1997, the lease ended, the British governor and British Royal Navy left their posts and Hong Kong became a Special Administrative Region of China in a giant celebration, with the Convention Centre at its heart.

Victoria Harbour is one of the world’s great harbors, providing a breathtaking setting between incredible skylines of the Kowloon Peninsula and Hong Kong Island. This waterway is one of the world’s great seaports and offers a shoreline filled with cultural, shopping, dining and recreational attractions.

Lan Kwai Fong is a Central district hot spot on Hong Kong Island famous for its raucous nightlife. Central is the city’s economic and financial center, home to the headquarters of multinational companies as well as legal offices and government departments. See the party district come to life on the weekend, as employees of the nearby offices shake off the stress of the working week and party along with tourists and celebrities.

The Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal is among the main ports in the territory. Come here for a boat trip to the picturesque territory of Macau, a former Portuguese colony on China’s southern coast.
