Fantastic staff & hotel. We stayed an extra night! Decor is wonderful & rooms comfortable. Nice walks in the area also. Only downside was the extra charge for the 'private beach' loungers, but plenty of beach space elsewhere to enjoy.
Great location with a fantastic view of the sea, hotel in a real castle, away from crowded Cannes, great service all round, very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff.
Great newly refurbished chateau with nice location and friendly staff.
Overall the hotel has a nice ambience, staff are sweet and attentive.
Théoule is a little quiet, so if you’re looking for “Cannes vibe”, this is not your preferred choice. Also the only restaurant open in the evening is the beach club, and the fine dining. The fine dining is closed Sunday and Monday and also did not have room for us on Saturday when we arrived.
The beach club is also lovely and comfortable, however they could consider making it free for hotel guests. Food is good at the beach club, but service a little slow.
Also water was not included every evening in the room and often coffee cups not cleared outside from terrace - minor details.
Definitely recommendable over all.
The property was absolutely beautiful, with the castle and sand private beach, I would recommend to all! As well as a stunning property, the service was impeccable. We had a very luxurious stay and cannot wait to come back.
I cannot recommend Chateau de Theoule highly enough. It offers exceptional quality for those looking for a special holiday. The staff are incredible and customer service is on a level I have not experienced before. The village of Theoule sur Mer is also worthy of mention; its tranquil, picturesque and the ideal place to kick back, relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the French Riviera.
Front door staff was excellent. Checkin staff was terrible: did not inform about amenities, did not provide a tour, etc. They charge $80 for using the beach, even at this $1K/night price range. Promote the bellboys to the front desk.
Staff not very friendly, couldn't even get an adapter for USA to EU. Hotel dated.

Liked: Cleanliness
I came across Château de Théoule on social media and was eager to book after seeing glowing influencer posts. Sadly, the reality doesn’t live up to the curated online image. It feels like more money has been spent on influencer marketing than on refining the property itself. While the hotel is part of the Leading Hotels of the World, it doesn’t meet the usual standards — though it’s hard to say exactly why. It just feels small and unfinished.
The pool area is small, and the sun loungers lack the luxury dolce vita vibe portrayed online. The private beach is nice, but loungers cost extra — with different prices depending on how close to the sea you are. The woman who checked us in seemed completely disengaged, which didn’t create a welcoming first impression.
Our room was spacious and clean, with lovely sea views, but the curtains were thin and let in a lot of light — my mother couldn’t sleep once the sun was up. The gym was also disappointing, with dated equipment and a wobbly cross trainer.
On the plus side, the location is great — right on the beach, with a bakery across the street, a small supermarket nearby, and good restaurants within walking distance. Overall, the hotel has potential but a lot of work to do if it hopes to live up to the luxury branding it promotes.
A castle on the beach, it's quite a dream! Steps away from the sea, you walk up a tower (literally) into the magical Chateau de Theoule, where you walk along stone-paved gardens from the pool, restaurant/bar, spa, and spacious rooms. Parking is available and the valet staff was very professional. The hotel has a private beach club and the water is less crowded than the other beaches nearby. For the price tag and luxury experience, though, I was surprised by the lack of personal care and grooming options available in the room. On the contrary, the spa is worth checking out and the prices are very reasonable! We also were woken up with a blaring fire alarm in the middle of night, were asked to evacuate (the staff had no idea what was going on) and after the entire building was awoken at 4am and the alarm stopped (approx. 10 minutes later), all they said was "it was just a test, you can go back to your rooms." A "test" at 4am?!?
All in all, it was a great stay despite a few misshaps. I think the staff as a whole could have been more friendly and hospitable. Most of them seemed very uptight and like something was going wrong at all times (that was just their state of being, nothing was actually happening but it felt like a constant red alert).

Disliked: Staff & service
Terrible checkin experience
Reception desk was very awful.
We had a very disrespectful check-in experience.
We said we would like to use hotel’s beach while waiting for our room to be ready. (Which will be ready at 4 pm…)
And we have been told that we could not use hotel’s beach due to high reservation demand outside the hotel.
We told them that our main reason to pick this hotel is their private beach and now you are telling us that we can not use hotel’s beach because there are too many outsider guests at the hotel beach?!
The answer was “there is nothing to do, sorry”. It was an half an hour dialog, that we keep asking that if they dont have a priority on their own guests…
And then we went to beach, it was half empty and the beach personal let us in. We did not understand why that lady in the reception desk left us that much frustrated and wasted almost an hour of us with that disturbing dialog.
