We were fog bound at Sofia airport and had nowhere to stay, only a crippy little B&B that Bulgaria Air offered us. We persuaded the manager to let us stay whilst they were staff training! Great night then and loved it again now 17 years later! "

"The hotel is very close to Sofia Airport, which makes it extremely convenient. The airport shuttle was on time and easy to spot thanks to the hotel logo—though on rainy or muddy days the shuttle can get dirty, making the logo harder to see, so pay close attention. "The amenities are great with some weird kinks. For example - the light switch for the bathrooms is behind the door on the outside of the bathroom so if you open the door you can't effectively reach for the light. You have to turn the light on before opening the door. The bath tub is incredibly high. If you have weak knees or osteoporosis or arthritis, getting over the tub wall to use the shower is a challenge. Speaking of shower - the mixer that turns it on and off is so complicated that it...

"Insgesamt kein Best Western Standard. Unfreundlicher Service an der Rezeption. Die Tischdecken im Früstücksraum waren sehr dreckig. Es gab nur Toast oder pappelige weiße Brötchen, keine Körnerbrötchen. Ansonsten war alles da. Bei Abreise um 4 Uhr morgens gab es keine Frühstücksbox mit der frechen Bemerkung ich hätte ja keine geordert. Wenn ich mich um 4 Uhr wecken lasse und ein Taxi bestelle, gehe ich davon aus, da es noch kein Frühstück gibt, das man mir etwas anbietet."
