"horrible stay at air venice inn. PICTURES DO NOT MATCH IN PERSON. paid extra for “ ocean front “ and there was bird poop all over the window. couldn’t see ocean with all the bird poop. outlets didn’t work. TV didn’t work . room wasn’t clean. dirt on walls, floor and windows. bed was so uncomfortable. restaurant across the street was playing obnoxiously loud music. when i notified the front desk lady about the issues she just said “ okay ” , and did not want to help. would not recommend staying."

"Stayed at Hotel Carmel for two nights and had a great experience overall. The location is excellent — only a few minutes’ walk to the Santa Monica Pier and beach. There are also plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes nearby, so everything you need is within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is older, but it was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, which made for a good night’s sleep after busy days exploring the area. Overall, no complaints at all. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable place in a fantastic location, Hotel Carmel is a great choice."

"The hotel is lovely, clean, and well-maintained, with attentive and friendly staff. The beds were comfortable, the room was very quiet, and the view was excellent. Can't beat the location, easy walk to the beack or coffee shops and restaurants nearby. One note for families: the balcony railings have spacing wider than 4 inches (we measured), which may be a concern for those traveling with small children/infants. Parking is valet-only at $250 for two nights, which felt a bit steep, though understandable given the location. There’s no microwave in the rooms for reheating food, and no hot tub on-site."

"I love staying at this hotel. It is convenient to everything. Th staff is great! The only thing I would say is that it is time for them to replace the carpeting in the halls. It is very worn. That won’t stop me from going back though!!"

"I had a great few days here with very friendly staff, good parking (paid) out front and a comfy bed. My only comment would be that there’s no coffee in the room - had to get dressed and go to reception for my morning fix 😂 and the pillows could be better. Otherwise an excellent place to stay near the beach and town centre. "

"We had a great welcome at Hotel Casa del Mar—the entrance staff were all very nice and set a good first impression. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a bit of noise from outside, but not a deal breaker for us. One part that didn’t feel great was the restaurant experience. The front staff wasn’t very welcoming, and when I asked for a dessert menu, I was told it’s a dining restaurant and we’d need to order a full meal to sit there. Otherwise, we could sit in the lobby and order dessert. It came across a bit judgmental and honestly felt rude. Another thing that caught me off guard was the $60 per night resort fee. I didn’t notice it during booking and only realized it at check-in when reading through the amenities. It felt a bit hidden, and I can see how others might miss it and be surprised later. Amenities are nice overall, but many of them require going to their sister property, Shutters on the Beach (like bike rentals or weekend yoga). I personally expected more of these to be available on-site instead of having to go to another hotel. Overall, we had a good stay, but there were a few things here and there that were surprising, and the restaurant interaction definitely left a negative impression."
