I was pleasantly surprised. One of our best stays yet. We travel a lot but have never come across such a great blend of history, architecture and cleanliness. The staff were amazing and the spa pool on the deck was insane and definitely a hit for my family. Not to mention the views and location! Although older (which was a bonus in our case) it was clean and well maintained. Coming from Auckland where we don’t have a lot of ‘history’ it was a treat to stay at this hotel and appreciate all the other architecture and history in the city.
Stayed for 3 nights, great location, friendly staff, good happy hour and breakfast buffet. Window in our room was dirty, fantastic view of Opera House and Bridge marred by the window, I know they wouldnt be easy to keep clean. They did try to charge us for breakfasts on check out, even though we'd booked with full breakfast. Overall great location and wouldstay again
The hotel room was just basic, bathroom old, old shower but the location can not be beat! Roof top terrasse that overlooks Sydney Harbour bridge and Sydney opera house. 5 minute walk to harbour and Opera house.
Look, this place needs a little TLC, the bar and restaurant hours and atmosphere are lacking BUT what a great location. This place has a great pool and spa on the roof, terrific views and great staff. The breakfast is good (albeit the very pale sausages) and happy hour is great value. This place is right on the hub of the Rocks and only a 5 minute walk to the Opera house, ferries, trains and of course the Rocks markets at the weekend. I really would recommend this place despite the slightly tired rooms.
The property is in a great location and has an amazing view from the rooftop pool area.
Our room 830 also had great views.
We were disappointed that the bar service isn’t open at all on Sundays or Monday and feel it’s a wasted opportunity.
The room service was also not available.
When asked about breakfast the first staff member wasn’t helpful at all and told us we couldn’t order breakfast because the cut off time was 5pm.
We asked at 5:30pm and there were no exceptions!
When we spoke to Maynark after midnight, he was extremely helpful and organised breakfast for us. If the other staff members were friendly and helpful like him, it would make this hotel more enjoyable for everyone!
Easy few minutes walk to cruise terminal.
Breakfast was good and staff at breakfast were helpful compared to check in staff who didn't make you feel welcome.
big negative was the lack of working lifts and no porters . Only 1 lift was working and it was also used by the cleaning staff so it took ages to get up and down to rooms. When used by cruise passengers which is their main business it was a nightmare trying to get your bags upstairs and even worse in the morning when everyone was wantinfg to check out you could be waiting for up to 20 minutes or more to bring your bags down and check out.

Appalling only having one lift working for several days - even service lift wasn’t working - - not good enough - 40 mins to get down get a bandaid and go back to my room should have taken 5 mins max - I have stayed there numerous times but is old and desperately needs a refurb and will definitely rethink where I stay next time
