"I recently stayed at The Lion for two nights with my husband and toddler. We booked The Bakery Suite (Quadruple on Hotels.com) which had a seperate living area which was ideal for us. Check in was swift and we found all the staff throughout our stay to be friendly and accommodating. We ate dinner in the restaurant the first night and opted for the roast beef. "Fabulous stay, beautiful building, excellent location next to lovely pubs, restaurants and shops. Nice walk along the canal into the centre of Chester. Breakfast was beautiful with lots to choose from and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again."

"Great hotel. Had a nice upgrade. The room had a comfy bed and was very clean. There was an ac unit in the bedroom which helped cool the room down. The only thing was the shower pressure was very low and cut out a couple of times. "

"From check in to check out, staff were really friendly. As a solo traveller I felt safe at all times. The pub itself seemed very friendly. The breakfast was lovely and the chef was very accomodating, cooking my order to my request. Would certainly stay again."

"We enjoyed staying here. There were meal options and it was easy to take public transportation to get into the heart of London. The breakfast staff was amazing! Very welcoming and helpful. "

"We just spent one night in Chester to visit the rows which is a reputation of the city. The hotel itself a bit far from downtown which takes about 20 minutes by walk. The room is a bit small with no view. There is no an elevator and the stairs is quite narrow. Pros are good breakfast, free car parking, and big bed. "
