"Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. "The staff where very friendly and welcoming. Hotel was clean, and comfortable, bar lovely and rooms had everything you need. Was close to town and lively walk by the canal."

"The staff were friendly but very green, during an evening meal and breakfast we had to ask several times for things like water, coffee and toast and some of these things didn't arrive at all. They are pleasant but need more training on staying on top of orders and clearing the tables. Breakfast is strange with you being charged £17 to have access to the continental and light breakfast menu, and then you having to pay an extra £5 for more premium items like a full English. Why not just say it...

"I would prefer it hotter but it was warm enough. Food was delicious, very good quality, staff extremely helpful and friendly, spa is beautiful with wide range of facilities. "

"We just spent one night in Chester to visit the rows which is a reputation of the city. The hotel itself a bit far from downtown which takes about 20 minutes by walk. The room is a bit small with no view. There is no an elevator and the stairs is quite narrow. Pros are good breakfast, free car parking, and big bed. "
