"I stayed here in March 2026 and unfortunately woke up at around 2:30am with bed bugs in my room. I found bugs on the bed and on my skin and took photos. I checked out immediately, and the night staff were courteous when I left at around 3am. I contacted the hotel directly about the incident but did not receive a reply. I reported it to an Expedia agent, who refunded my stay. I had also requested a refund for the parking fee I paid to the hotel directly, but I have not had any response from the...

"One small quibble. You need grab bars in the shower. For those, like me, who don't need fully accessible rooms but need some help with balance in the shower."

"They changed it a lot and not for the better. They removed their iconic gift shop completely. TV’s in the room don’t face the bed or any seating in the room (very weird). The bar is still expensive, but the food menu has drunk. They have downsized a lot. I was extremely disappointed with the stay. The Hotel Bel Air is not the iconic place it once was, sadly. "

"As soon as we came out of the elevator it stunk like cigarette smoke on the entire floor and in our bedroom. The smell was so strong in the carpets and curtains, it was pretty gross. The shuttle to Universal was really convenient, and the food in the courtyard was good. The movies playing at the pool was a really fun idea although it was too cold at night. "

"This is a beautiful boutique hotel, conveniently located in walkable Westwood Village. The staff, especially Oscar and Vanessa, were cheerful and helpful. Our room was quite small, but the hotel compensated with its lovely side garden and lobby. There’s a reasonably priced parking garage around the corner. We’d definitely return, though probably asking for a larger room."
