"I loved the location. There are several train stations nearby to help you navigate Tokyo. The hotel is surrounded by lots of restaurants and shopping opportunities. I highly recommend the dumpling restaurant across the street (I noticed it because there is frequently a line outside waiting for them to open at 11:30 for lunch). I also recommend Dragone, a little store that sells the very best pastries I had during my time in Tokyo (go out the front and turn left, it's probably half a block away, open 11:30a-7pm).
The room is small, but was perfectly adequate for my needs with a little desk where I spent quite a bit of time working on my computer. Plenty of receptacles to get everything charged up. The hot spring in the basement is worth exploring, and a deep soaking bath in the room is a good alternative. Plenty of hot water.
The cleaning staff did a great job.
I had two disappointments: the air conditioner, which I couldn't get to give a constant instead of intermittent cooling, and with the thick comforter I got too hot, and the hotel breakfast. Food that should have been hot, was only warm, and nothing I tried seemed very tasty in contrast to all the awesome dining alternatives around the hotel.
As for shopping, this hotel is not in the busy area with all the shops, but shopping is within easy walking distance.
NOTE: I based myself in Shinjuku because I like ping pong and played several times at the Shinjuku Sports Center, which is a 25 minute train ride away."
