"The Grains bar hotel was selected over others primarily for its location which had several teenage memories. We were visiting family in Smallbridge, Rochdale ... 4miles away, so very convenient. Excellent greeting and first impressions. Ample seating areas, small bar area next to reception, large brekki, dining room but lacked atmosphere. Other rooms (not viewed incl Wedding venue) available. Good meals and menu. Rag pudding...well! Yes, the parking is a tad awkward, ie circa 20 spaces...

"Convenient location bed and pillows quite hard, little things like one of our towels had a hole in it let the place down a little. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. I was greeted and seated by a nice member of the team but after that nobody came anywhere near me so i couldnt ask for coffee or fresh eggs as i had hoped so stuck with some toast and apple juice. Hot food looked ok "

"We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The staff were so friendly especially Donny at reception. Front of house can really make or spoil a stay. The rooms were spacious and they accommodated all our guests with rooms close to one another which made it much more relaxed for us. Parking was also included and breakfast which had a variety of options. Would stay here again for sure. "

"We where put in a disability room so all the amenities where low down. The shower was slow and we had no full length mirror. I have stayed at the Marriott before and it was nice but I was disappointed "

"A very pleasant short break at Hollins Hall. Staff were excellent and the food in the Grill on the Hill was delicious. The leisure centre was well equipped and very clean. Yes, the hotel is starting to show its age but overall the stay was very enjoyable. "

"Overall, a good stay but there were some things that needed improving. My room cards kept deactivating (and after the first time I kept away from my bank cards) so that was really annoying having to go to and from the reception. One of the cleans, I was left a dirty teaspoon to use for tea and coffee. The gym was good and the staff were friendly though. The room was a good size but the air conditioning was very poor so had to keep the window open"

"I stay here often, I like the hotel, it is convenient for business meetings etc. I don’t like the holding deposit. I don’t want to buy anything on credit and the deposit takes too long to clear! "

"No USB sockets in the room just 3 pin plug sockets. Good location, enough in there for a night or 2. "

"This hotel is a WOW!!!! Looks beautiful, is beautiful. Fabulous Victorian architecture. Weve never stayed before, and I booked due to seeing it has been refurbished, and the reviews are so good. We booked a standard room, it was clean, fresh, quiet. Lots of complimentary extras in the room, which has far exceeded anywhere else we've stayed at. Breakfast fabulous. Would highly recommend . Fabulous!!!!"

"Great location to explore the area,the scotsman hotel,wad very nice,the only problem was i had the single room which was above the kitchen,so got woken up at 5am,"
