i have no idea... they seemed nice but no rooms...
i went to this place and they didnt have rooms so they walked me to a love hotel down the street. i got a room there which was decent, but still small. i guess they are not linked into hotels.com very well...
This is a great place to stay if you need a small and quiet place to stay for very cheap. As long as you're just using the room/facilities for your necessities it is perfect. Also very close to the Sinchon Train station.
We booked through hotels.com and chose our room based on the picture because it was bigger and had extra seating. (The room we booked was the room with a double bed and red furniture and black wallpaper.) When we got there we were taken to a different room not actually in Alpha Guesthouse, but in another hotel on the same street that they had a deal with. The room was so small there wasn't really room for our bags, no seating, and definitely no room to unpack. The picture of the Alpha Guesthouse that you see online only has 2 or 3 rooms actually in that building, and they are hostel style rooms. Any other rooms they have are in other hotels nearby that they have a deal with. When we went back to tell them we had reserved a different room, the person working at the "front desk" kept saying that when we booked on expedia (we did not use expedia, but he thought we did) they just got a code for the size of room we wanted, but did not know which picture we had seen. I told him he should make the pictures online accurate, but he was just laughing and kept repeating himself. He wouldn't do anything to help us out because the manager was not there. We came back in the morning when the manager was supposed to be there, and he was- sleeping on a cot behind the desk. The guy from the night before woke him up and told him the situation and the manager, clearly hung over, and not even looking at us, just told the guy to switch our room to the one we booked. After half an hour, he moved us to the room we saw online, which had been available all along. It was also in another hotel on the same street. It did not look as big as the picture made it look online and had only one strange greenish light, but we decided to stay there anyway. There was one small window that did not let in any light and no closets or drawers. Needless to say, we were not impressed at all with this hotel. If it had not been so late and we had had more energy, we probably would have just looked for another place the first night we got there because the surrounding streets were full of hotels.

Thought we were reserving a room at this place. Turned up at seven and was told to come back at ten. Came back at ten and had to wait in line to be taken to another place. This was a s e x motel. We paid 20000 more for our room because of the middle man.
I go to Seoul quite a lot and been to quite few guest houses but at the end i return to this one. The location isnt so great but with the service, cleanliness and the rooms it's all worth it.

A good stay.
I've been staying in the guesthouse for about a week. It is convenient because it is located somewhere in the middle of the busy Sinchon station. Everything is here. Coffee shops are nearby, markets, shopping complex, you name it. Good stay.
We stayed here so we had a place to crash after clubbing in Hongdae. The host was extremely polite and spoke fluent english. Will definitely stay here again.
I needed a hotel in an emergency situation and had limited funds, thus I chose this hotel. The hotel room is very small. If you have any luggage, you will not be able to move around in your room. There is no elevator, so be prepared to walk up a few flight of stairs on the way up to your room. If you have luggage, forget about it as you would be carrying this up and down the stairs. The front desk people speak no English at all. So if you need help, you better speak Korean. Only use as a last ditch place or if you really have no money to spend.
This place was really cheap and you end up getting what you paid for. It isn't "nice" to look at, but things are clean enough. The building my room was in had week AC and I had trouble sleeping cause I couldn't get comfortable with the heat. The staff were friendly and eager to please, but they left loose ends in different points and aspects of the check-in process that made them seem a bit unprofessional. It is a personal quirk I judging from, though. Overall, it's fine, but I would avoid it during hot weather.
