"We stayed happily at the Villa Pantheon 29 years ago and they have not upgraded or improved a thing since! This tired hotel needs a lot of work. Old slow with no security access elevators, ripped wallpaper, scuffed walls, mold in showers, dust + grime throughout. We booked a deluxe room, the highest rated and the room was a small sitting room and bathroom with a sleeping loft up a ships ladder! They reluctantly then offered a smaller room which was just grubby and worn. It was late by then and...

"It’s expensive for what you get. The private room was $180. Really you don’t get any amenities... like towels or soap… and the bathroom is not in the room. The breakfast is pretty terrible. Nothing about this was valuable. After we saw the room, I looked on HotelTonight and saw a private room (with linens) and a bathroom that was actually inside the room, and it was also $180. My recommendation to anyone is that the private rooms here are not worth the trouble and to book something comprable at...

The area around the hotel feels very safe, plenty of dining options (highly recommend la sanserre which was recommended by the very helpful and english speaking receptionist, the special breakfast was amazing) and area was nice and lively enough to have some relaxed food and drinks.
