"This was my second stay at Hotel Musse Kyoto, and, as before, my experience was excellent. The front desk staff are always warm, helpful, and efficient. The room is well-appointed and laid out, with enough room for me to. open my suitcases. It's the most comfortable bed I've slept on in Japan so far. The location is extremely convenient, and I enjoyed the Japanese and western breakfast options. I will stay there whenever possible."

"The location was great! Stores and restaurants right outside your door in the covered outdoor mall area and walkable to major stores and the Gion area. The hotel itself was adequate but pretty basic. Lobby is tiny. The area is pedestrian only from 10:00 am - midnight so if you need to take a taxi during this time, you’ll need to walk a couple blocks to the hotel. "

"The breakfast menu was fairly average, all pre-made and not that appetising (in my option). The staff were friendly and helpful enough, but the time to check in was very slow. One of the servers in the bar took our order then preceded to take other orders, and left us for a good 5 minutes sitting at the bar with nothing....so we left. Laundry facilities were good and inexpensive. The room were very very small and we were not able to unback our bags nor even place them where there they weren't in the way. Big negative. The position of the hotel was very good; close to Gion and good restaurants and other shopping. Probably the best aspect of our stay. "

"Good small hotel in Kyoto. No ability to use stairs outside of emergencies clogs the elevators. Also, front desk was unable to help me do any luggage forwarding to Tokyo from the hotel. Reason was somewhat unclear, third-party provider software they referred just didn't work."

"Friendly staff and help you of everything you need. Very happy with our room big and clean. We have everything we needed in the room. Best ever breakfast we had at the hotel with all kinds of varieties food. We enjoyed using the hot spring area and the massage chairs to relax. Overall my whole family was very satisfied."
