Not many dining options in the area. Easy access to transportation. Staff during check in process was great. Provided clear instructions and courteous. Rooms were large and kids really enjoyed the play elements. Highly recommended especially for family with kids.

Our kids and us love staying here. The staff was super easy to communicate with. All the check-in and checkout instructions were super detailed. We had a little miscommunication on checkout about where the key cards were and the online staff did they due diligence to make sure the keys were where I said I put them. Absolutely a phenomenal stay I’ve never stayed anywhere like this place before. If you’re visiting Kyoto with kids, this place is the best. You’re about a three minute walk to the subway and you can get just about anywhere in the city the cheapest that way there’s a grocery nearby plus a 7-Eleven and tons of restaurants. On top of all that there are several playgrounds and parks in the area.

Great kid-friendly stay

My family had a great time at Play Resi Stay! My children (7 and 5) absolutely loved the bunk bed and the room decor - we chose a sweets room. The room was comfortable and spacious and the play areas on each floor were great. The only downside was having to go to a different location to check in, but it is very close to Kyoto station, so not too difficult. However, it was great to be able to make use of the shuttle bus from the check in location to the apartment. The location is fantastic - close to a subway and convenience stores. We would stay again!

we stayed in the sea room with my wife and son. From what I see it's the one with the least amount of games, yet it was fantastic. we really loved the layout and the decor is perfect for a child. I can say with absolute certainty it was my son favorite hotel during our entire trip in Japan. he was delighted to sleep on a boat bed with Mr. Otopus and climbing up and down the boat chimney. The kids drawing books, sleepers and kid toothbrush were also a plus.and the interactive game on the wall in the lobby immediately became his favorite. He loved playing with the other children there. This is a family with young children oriented hotel and they sure didn't miss their target. I strongly recommend to any family going to Kyoto. Something else I ended liking is the fact that reception is not at the hotel but just 5min walk from Kyoto Station. It felt weird and inconvenient on paper, but it's actually the opposite. since most people will reach Kyoto by train, the reception is then just 5 min away. you can then arrive anytime, store your luggage and tour the city. They provide a transport by van later when you get the room. Same on check-out, you go to the reception (4 subway stations only), store your luggage and live you life until later when you pick them up, just next to the station. no need to go far in the city then come back to the Kyoto station.

Great stay, room wasn’t cleaned throughout though so towels were a bit wet when re-used vs fresh ones and check-in is a bit odd with no one on-site. Didn’t see the message to check-in elsewhere first but overall very nice and fun for the kids. Would stay again.
