"Of the nine different hotels and ryokans we stayed at, this was our favorite place to stay. The location was gorgeous and the staff was the friendliest and most helpful we encountered. This location is up in the mountains so it doesn't have many tourists. We were able to to walk to three different nearby shrines/temples in about 2-3 hours and saw only 4 other people. This was the most relaxing part of our 2 week trip. The dinner and breakfast was exceptional but the staff and location is why we picked this hotel as our favorite place of our trip. I would absolutely stay here again. If you are looking for a place to relax in a mountain setting this is the place to stay!"

"I absolutely loved the traditional Japanese room with the private outdoor bath. While it can only fit one person it’s so relaxing to be out there amongst the bamboo hillside. The hotel staff here really go above and beyond helping you with baggage, shuttle to the train station, explaining, and giving restaurant recommendations. The dinner unfortunately was full as I booked somewhat last minute. Some of the town restaurants closed up a little early on Saturday but the recommended izakaya was terrific. I didn’t need most of the amenities but everything was provided including some tea, coffee, and a kettle that I wanted first thing in the morning. Just wish I stayed longer to experience more of the town and the onsens."

"This has been our favourite hotel of the trip. Cannot fault this place at all. Happy hour was a nice surprise and was great to see how many guests enjoyed a drink before heading out."

"Loved the room layout! And view! The front desk had to make a call to have the restaurant stop denying me a drink 1.5 hours before they closed claiming it was “reservation only” luckily they got me through apparently the restaurant on the top floor is a different company than the hotel but I’m grateful they managed "

"Great place to relax and reflect. Very Japanese experience with wonderful garden and delicious breakfast. Plenty of pretty walks nearby. Good coffee shop on site and Laundry facilities. Kind and friendly staff."
